Post Master's Certificate in Nursing Business
and Health Systems
The purpose of the Nursing Business and Health
Systems Post-Master’s certificate offering
is to prepare nurses who have previously earned
a master’s degree in nursing for advanced
practice in leading and managing health systems.
The Nursing Business and Health Systems Post-Master’s
certificate program includes five required systems
core courses from the Master’s degree program.
Within these systems courses, students are encouraged
to pursue their area of interest whenever possible
(e.g. projects). The Post-Master’s certificate
program is planned for part-time study, and is
offered in a web-based format.
Organizing Framework
The Nursing Business
and Health Systems Post Master’s Certificate
offering is based on the organizing framework
of the overall School of Nursing Master’s
Program, as well as the framework of the Nursing
Business and Health Systems Master’s Program.
The coursework focuses on strategic planning,
systems assessment, quality, finance, operations
management, financial and human resources, and
change and innovation.
Objectives
The post-masters certificate in Nursing Business
and Health Systems is based on the objectives
of the Nursing Business and Health Systems Master’s
Program:
- Synthesize and apply theories, models
and research related to nursing business
and health systems.
